It’s been 3 years since the last City2Surf and Sydney was ready for the race to return. JT Allen Real Estate decided to participate in this year’s run to celebrate the event, get some exercise and to also raise funds for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.
Sporting our JT Allen t-shirts, we ran 14km from Sydney’s CBD to Bondi alongside 60,000 other participants, making sure to stop outside our office in Double Bay for a photo next to our new office signage.
The atmosphere was buzzing with music, dancing, runners in costumes, and people cheering from the sidelines. It was amazing to see how our communities all got involved in their own way whether it was through running in the race or through setting up water stands outside their homes and even people setting up their own music systems to put on a performance from their balconies for everyone running past.
Once everyone in team JT Allen crossed the finish line in Bondi, the team celebrated with a well-earned lunch at Hurricane’s Grill.
With a goal of raising $3,000, the team managed to surpass this amount, raising $3,012. We’d like to thank everyone that donated – we’re very proud to have been able to contribute funds to a charity that does so much work for sick children.
